Dream Interpretation

I am definitely a dreamer! I have huge grips of dreams that will pour over me nightly like waves. Then a time of calm. Some dreams I think are just that. I see me working out the day’s events. Probably not too much for anyone to ‘unlock’. But then sometimes I have a cluster of dreams, or one single dream that I really feel needs to have an understanding.

Drum Circle

I play lots of percussion hand drums and instruments. Community drum circle is a fun way to become interactive in your community, get people involved, develop creativity and expression. People at every level have something to contribute. There is a misconception that only experienced persons will be welcomed and appreciated in a drum circle. But this is a great way to learn from others, and for those with higher levels of ability — it’s a great way to give back into your ‘craft’.

Racoon Post

Well, we have racoons that pretty much are squatters in our yard this year. Last year we had possums, but I think the racoons bet ‘em up and sent them packin’ as part of their hostile take over.read the entire article entitled Racoons! posted at this site.

My 51st Birthday

I had a totally awesome birthday party this year! Last year was really hard because it was my 50th birthday (which is supposed to be a big celebration year) and my mom was in her final moments of end stage cancer. So I really didn’t feel much like a party. Well, this year has been a long year of recovery and refreshment. I’m not even sure how it got started, but a very cool friend — also a workmate of my spouse, organized an exceptional party. He’s an awesome cook and event planner — some things we hold in common. So he worked out the guest list with my spouse, got together a small crew of my friends for kitchen help (this included drinking lots of shots) and prepared a delectible assortment of fillings for tostadas!

Oh so much fun!!

Chili Cookoff

We were invited to participate in a chili cookoff at our friend’s yacht club. He was having trouble getting enough people to cook their chili. This annual event helps raise money for the club, but most importantly is just a fun time for all to get together and sample others recipes, spend the day in good company, and drink lots of beer or tequilla.

This is really an event for members only because the winner from that year goes on to host the following year’s chili cookoff. So how it could work with a non-member taking the prize could be quite complicated as there could be no guarantee that a non-member would be around the following year, or that they would put their best efforts into hosting the event.

With the idea that we assumably would not win a prize, but would have a great time, our team (comprised of myself, hubby, sonny boy, and a recently single friend) gathered our ingredients together, made our way to the marina, and had a great day.

Yes, we did have the best and probably only authentic chili. No we didn’t get a prize — not really even an honorable mention. But that was after all the deal.

Think maybe we’ll have a chili cookoff of our own. I bet racoons go real well in “Hillbilly Chilly”. Read the entire article Racoons!

Bethlehem Star

A friend working as a waitress in a local landmark diner told a story of some years back as she was travelling with her husband on a dark road in Mexico. She had an experience on this dark road where she saw a huge star that was so bright it lit the entire sky. She equated it to the Bethlehem Star and wondered if anyone out there had seen anything like her experience.

Richard Em’s Birthday

How times flies! July 5th marks Richard Em’s 23rd birthday. Nah….

There’s a page on this site with a wish list for Rich Leavitt.

Richard’s Big Party

We were to celebrate his birthday on this Saturday, July 14th, but since his dad presumably will be in Baker working on getting the green van back to America … oh, I guess Baker is still technically in the United States. and Kevin will also presumably be away for the weekend. Currently, I hear he is trying to figure how to go up to Baker with dad using his car as the second vehicle so he can then continue on up to Rachael’s in Vegas. Well he needs to take dad up, and also the new radiator (wow, you should see the package, then consider the size of his car).

Currently the plan is to have his party when Rachael will be here, so Monday night.

Summertime

Well, it’s summertime and I’m not sure if the living is easy. But I think we’re working on it. All the grandkids are out on vacation. We’re all looking forward to spending time together.

Garden Wildlife

Our garden is amazing! Every year it’s different. Every year the wildlife is different. I was surprised last year to see a possum as a regular visitor in our garden. But I really shouldn’t be, there seems to be much wildlife in the area that we don’t seem to notice. In the nearby Venice area, we noticed a family of five racoons playing in someone’s yard, and then one by one filed into a row sitting in front of a nearby street gutter.

I think we’ve seen them around in our yard, but I only get a fleeting glimpse through the grapevines, so it could be our possum from last season.
